Imagine if….
-
You could
leave your pharmacy to engage in new roles without having to
close the premises.
-
Medicines
could be sold and prescriptions could be dispensed safely and
accurately in your absence.
-
You could
audit every transaction made and every consultation held for
audit.
The future has just got better…
CAPA has
brought a new dimension to pharmacy practice and enabled new
possibilities for the role of the pharmacist. By liberating
the pharmacist from the dispensary without compromising
patient safety in respect of sale and supply of medicines,
pharmacists can now engage in new services as required by the
New Contract. A pharmacy is set to CAPA Remote Supervision
Protocol by Head Office under special secure passwords and
during Supervision every transaction for prescription or sale
of medicine requires pharmacists authority before CAPA
allows it to complete.
The Remote
Pharmacist can interact with the staff, check all patient
details, check clinical interactions, and even hold a video
session with the patient, before finally allowing a sale or a
prescription to be dispensed. CAPA's Standard Operating
Procedure requires pharmacists to label prescriptions,
technicians to dispense and Checking Technicians to check
the final preparation. A final validation to ensure the correct
product can be done by scanning the barcode of the dispensed
packaging. For Sales, patient safety is enhanced by prompting
staff with appropriate and relevant questions to be asked to a
particular supply. What’s more,
every transaction is stored with details of staff making the
Sale or Dispensing the prescription, along with pharmacist performing the
clinical check and label, discussion between the staff, and
the video session. The patented technology also allows many
pharmacists to supervise one pharmacy or one pharmacist to
supervise many pharmacies.
